Off leash hiking can be pure magic for your dog's wellbeing. On a Bark Trek, play is not the primary focus. Movement, decompression, and enrichment makes two hours on the trails more fulfilling than a ten hour day at a crowded facility. The highest mileage one of our Bark Trekkers has gotten on a single hike: 9.7 miles with an average speed of 3.9mph.
We have over five years of hands-on experience building successful play groups to maximize fun and minimize stress for dogs of all personalities. We believe part of what creates this success in multi-dog arrangements is our ability to identify the subtlest of body language cues that your dog's playmates might miss, and advocating for your dog and their crewmates when they have a hard time making their own needs known.
Using positive play facilitation strategies, your dog will learn when its appropriate to play, how to leave a dog who doesn't want their attention alone, and how to trust that a human is going to advocate for them instead of them having to correct the other dog themselves.
We have seen firsthand what Bark Treks have done for dogs' wellbeing's, social etiquette, and their confidence.

We kick off our service with a ride straight from your door in our Bark Trek Van, equipped with crash tested, rotomolded kennels from Ruffland. From there, we embark on a two hour off-leash trek within the beautiful outdoor spaces of Snohomish & Skagit county.
The hikes are paired with provided Sport Dog GPS collars for safety, and high value treats for shaping desired behaviors through positive reinforcement.
Your dog gets out of the house fora few hours out of the day, and you get a tired dog when you come home to unwind without having to drop off and pick up your Fido yourself!
Hikes take place rain or shine.
Dogs who go on Bark Trek's are committed to a weekly spot in order to make the groups as predictable as possible which benefits the dogs' comfort levels within a social group and the hiker's understanding of the training needs within a group.
Hikes are $55 per hike if paid weekly, $53 per hike if you purchase a 5-pack, and $50 per hike if you purchase a 10-pack.
A qualified Bark Trek candidate is an altered dog with no history of dog or human aggression, has solid off leash recall, has energy to release or exercise to get, has met other dogs outside of the family and done well or been neutral with them, and does well in both vehicles and travel crates.
The following is needed from your vet prior to their first day with us:
Since we put big, bulky, beep-y collars on your dogs, we prefer that your dog does not have experience wearing bark collars or electronic or vibrating corrective collars. We don't wish the dog to be anticipating corrections while wearing our GPS only collars.
